Forgiveness

Did you know that unwillingness to forgive is the greatest weapon the enemy uses to defeat Christians today?

Forgiveness is the bridge to healing in Jesus Christ our Lord.

It was in learning to forgive that I found complete healing that would later lead to deliverance.

During my 40 Day Self-Denial Fast the Lord had me make a list of every person/church and their offense/abuse that had hurt me.

The Lord took me all the way back to my childhood wounds and bruises.

The list and offenses were long; but, friends, the Lord did a great work in me as I dropped my pride, repented for my unwillingness to forgive, and as I asked Jesus to examine my mind and heart; He healed me one offense at a time.

Here’s what I wrote in my journal for each offender and offense:

Dear Heavenly Father, I choose to forgive [name person/church] for [offense/abuse] because it made me feel [share your feelings].

Jesus, I choose not to hold on to my resentment. I relinquish my right to seek revenge and ask you to heal me emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

Thank you, Jesus for setting me free from the bondage of blame and bitterness. I now ask you to bless those who have hurt me.

In Jesus’ name I pray-Amen!

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
