There was a season I don’t know if I would have passed the test of faith.
In fact, I believe Jesus would have said those words…I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness (religion)!
I even know what I would try to say in my defense…but I loved church.
I taught Sunday school and children’s church, I could quote Scripture from memory, I was a faithful church member, I tithed, I served in full time ministry and loved it!
I had a whole lot of religion/works, and no relationship/worship with Jesus.
Was I saved as a child when I made a confession of faith? Maybe…maybe not.
However, today I have no doubt Jesus knows who I am because I know who He is to me.
Will you pass the test of faith?
Friends, God is sounding an alarm for all people to do an examination of the heart in order not to be deceived by religion vs. an intimate and deep relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord.
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!2 Corinthians 13:5
Good morals, Bible knowledge, church involvement, active ministry, conviction of sin, saying a prayer, emotionalism, performance, or a time of decision does not necessarily prove or disprove genuine salvation.
HOWEVER…deep love for God and the things of God, repentance from sin, genuine humility, devotion to the glory of God, continual prayer, selfless love, separation from the world, spiritual growth, and obedience does prove genuine faith that will past the test.
Jesus says in Luke 10 that it will be those who love God and people with all their heart, soul, strength, soul, and mind who will inherit the Kingdom of God.
Friends, I spent almost 18 years deceived by the enemy when Jesus answered my prayer, broke my pride, healed my soul, filled me with His Spirit, and delivered me from religion.
He gave me life that is centered on Him 24/7.
He knows me.
Will Jesus know you?
If you have never read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), I encourage you to meet with Jesus today.
