As a mama, I naturally want to protect my babies from any harm.

The windows stay locked, every night before going to bed I make sure the doors are locked, and I also have other safety precautions such as fire detectors.

So if I do everything in my power to protect my family in the natural realm, why would I not want to protect my children in the spiritual realm as well.

Thou anointest my head with oil.

Psalm 23:5

To anoint is simply to bless with oil.

The oil represents the Power of the Holy Spirit and is a symbol of faith in God’s ability to cleanse and make holy.

It is an act of consecrating your home to the Lord.

Consecrate is to declare sacred and dedicate to God.

When I made the decision to anoint my home this is what the Holy Spirit had me do:

First, the Holy Spirit was bringing things to my attention that were not pleasing to Him…books, movies, games, clothing…anything connected to the wrong spirits.

He even led me to hidden objects.

So I encourage you first to ask the Holy Spirit to show you what it is you need to remove from your home.

Second, I began to pray in every room inviting the Holy Spirit to fill every single inch. I did this from room to room.

Third, I rebuked the Devil. I told him he had to go in Jesus name and that he was not welcome in my home.

I was also binding the darkness, breaking any assignments against my home, and loosing light.

Next, I read Psalm 91 aloud. I don’t know what it is about that chapter but it brings so much peace into my home.

God truly is our refuge, our protector, and He places His angels in charge of us.

Lastly, by faith, I placed oil on the frame of every door in my home while pleading the blood of Jesus over each family member.

Just think how Rahab’s faith in hiding the two spies saved her household.

For me, I anoint my home with every new season and when the Spirit leads me.

Just know you don’t need anyone to come in and do this for you…you are more than capable.

Also, there is no right or wrong way. Just allow the Holy Spirit to lead you…and He will!

How did the Holy Spirit have you anoint your home? How often do you anoint your home? I’d love for you to share your testimony.
