That is the word God gave me for you today.

The enemy is gaining ground.

You are wounded.

You have nothing left to give.

Yes, you need to retreat.

Retreat is not defeat.

Retreat is strategy.

You need to withdrawal and seek refuge.

Seek rest.

Allow God to strengthen you for victory.

Retreat and Prepare for Battle

First, find that secret place of refuge.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.

Psalm 91:1-2

For me, it’s my kitchen table. That’s where I retreat daily. That’s where I pray, meditate, study, and hear instructions from my Father through Holy Spirit.

It’s my one place I can resist attacks and rest…and here’s why.

I anointed that space to be my secret place. It’s sacred and devoted to seeking my Abba Father (Daddy).

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut the door, pray to thy Father which seeth in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Matthew 6:6

So second, you need to bless your secret place…this is how I did it.

  • I Boldly read Psalm 91 aloud with the authority and power Jesus gives us.
  • I declared my kitchen my secret place.
  • I demanded the enemy to flee.
  • I reminded the enemy of 1 John 4:4.
  • I asked Father to have his angels stand guard.
  • I welcomed Holy Spirit to dwell in my secret place and to intercede on my behalf.

For he shall give his angels charge of thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Psalm 91:11

Finally, you have to retreat…and this will be your hardest step towards victory.

It takes humility, repentance, obedience, discipline…but mostly it requires full surrender to God and seeking His kingdom.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness.

Matthew 6:23

What I love most about retreating…God’s promise.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Psalm 91:14-16
